Opinion of C64games.com
First things first: we wish to respect everybody's copyrights. It is not our purpose to make any money at all, certainly not by selling games which we did not create.
Unfortunately, it is very difficult to find out who actually has the copyright of any given Commodore 64 game. Often, companies publishing games no longer exist, the legal entities have disappeared, contracts between developers & publising companies are unclear or have vanished, et cetera. Furthermore, in our opinion, it is not realistic to suggest that one can make money on games released 20 years ago for the Commodore 64. We do not believe it is possible to earn a substantial amount of cash on games that old.
But, some people believe otherwise. Examples are First Star Software and Paul McKenna of Odin & Thor. They have substantial problems with anyone selling their software or making their software available for free. We respect these opinions.
