History

The history of these pages go back a long time. Here is the story: A lot of years ago (maybe 10?), some of my friends discussed over a couple of beers which game was the best ever published on the Amiga. They could not decide which game it should be. So, they decided to build a list of the 30 best games ever. These results were published on Hellions homepage.

These personal pages later became www.amigagames.com. Unfortunately, the original results are no longer available on the www. Drop Hellion a mail if you want to recieve these original results: webmaster(at)amigagames.com. After composing our top 30, discussion did not end. We decided that we should ask the general public what the best Amiga games ever are. So, we decided to use www.amigagames.com for a vote. After making some announcements that everyone could give there opinion, we were overwhelmed with replies. Untill now, over 968 people have entered their personal favorites. Visit www.amigagames.com/chart for a quick look.

This website found its roots in februari 2001. Back then, we only wanted to proces your opinion in a new C64 games top 50. With more and more opinions coming in, the quality of The Alltime Commodore 64 Games Top 50 improved. We now have recieved and processed over 450 entries! This is the eight publication of the top 50. We aim to receive and proces over 500 personal top 10's. Then, we can really say: This is The Alltime Commodore 64 Games Top 50!

Later on, we decided to broaden our view. This has lead to using these pages, and the URL, for a higher purpose, as you may read in our about pages.
